Message Hello guys,
I just finished my first TT rebuild , the car runs great , boost up very nice but I am afraid that won't last . The mistakes that I made during the first start up was that I used synthetic oil and also because I was trying to fix some small leak here and there, forgot I should not let the engine idle for too long. I did switched to conventional oil and the car has about 250 miles on the new engine. The engine burns oil like crazy , within 250 miles it has consumped about 1.5 quart . No visual smoke but the exhaust tips turn black , all the spark plugs burn black at the thread, and I do see oil residue in all of the combustion chambers . At this point I am already expected the the worse , pull the engine out again , horn the cylinder and new rings . I have not done a compression test yet. Please let me know if I still have some hope .......?
A little more info,
New turbos, heads rebuilt with new valves and seals , all was done by a well known local shop .
